Water-Cooled Water Chiller
KANSA water-cooled chillers provide continuous process cooling for production lines, machinery and temperature-sensitive industrial processes. By rejecting process heat through a cooling-water circuit, they are well suited to factories with an existing cooling tower or plant cooling-water system.
- Cooling Capacity: 9.9-240kW / 176-1145kW
- Temperature precision: ±0.1/±0.5/±1.5℃
- Water flow rate: 2.1~32.7m³/h
How a Water-Cooled Process Chiller Works
A water-cooled process chiller continuously removes heat from production equipment or process water and transfers that heat to a separate cooling-water circuit.
- Process Heat Enters the Evaporator
Warm water returning from the production equipment flows through the chiller. In the evaporator, heat is transferred from the process water to the refrigerant, reducing the water temperature before it is circulated back to the equipment or production process. - The Compressor Raises Refrigerant Pressure
After absorbing heat in the evaporator, the refrigerant enters the compressor. The compressor increases its pressure and temperature so that the absorbed process heat can be released through the condenser. - The Condenser Transfers Heat to Cooling Water
The refrigerant then passes through the water-cooled condenser. Cooling water flowing through a separate circuit absorbs heat from the refrigeration system and carries it away from the chiller. - The Refrigeration Cycle Repeats
After releasing heat in the condenser, the refrigerant returns toward the evaporator at a lower pressure and temperature, allowing it to absorb process heat again. This refrigeration cycle operates continuously while cooling is required. - Heat Rejection Outside the Chiller
The heated condenser water must be cooled before it can return to the chiller. Depending on the installation, this heat may be rejected through a cooling tower or an existing plant cooling-water system.
KANSA water-cooled chillers are therefore particularly suitable for industrial facilities where a reliable cooling-water supply is already available.
